To everyone who braved the cold and wind to come out last night to participate and/or volunteer….. THANK YOU!!
We had an amazing turnout and an even more amazing time. So many great costumes, such fun people, and so many zombies. A few humans survived the great zombie takeover of Ghent last night but official numbers are not in yet.
We will be counting waivers and the number of people who signed back in today and hopefully have an official number by tonight. Did we break a world record? We’ll find out soon!
Thank you again to our wonderful volunteers for ensuring a smooth game went down, to the participants for coming out and having a great time, to our neighbors for putting up with us, and to our sponsors for their support in helping to make Survive Norfolk happen.
Thank you for another successful Survive Norfolk.

- AltDaily Presents “Shaun of the Dead” at Naro Cinema with an appearance from Mayor Fraim! 9:15pm, $9 (regular ticket price) and $2 PBRs (all proceeds from those sales directly benefit the charities of Survive Norfolk)
- Zombie Prom! 9pm to 2am. It’s the official post-Shaun of the Dead party at Taphouse in Ghent. Doors open at 9pm with music by The Cemetary Boys at 10pm followed by Splatterhouse Five at 11:30pm. Rashod Ollison of the Virginian Pilot wrote a fun and humbling article about this year’s game for the Daily Break section on 10/7/11. Thank you for the coverage! And many thanks to Ross Taylor for the super fun photo shoot! Pictured with Whitney are Chris “Mohawk” Harbin and makeup guru/zombie enthusiast John Hughes out on Colley Ave in front of Naro Expanded Video and the historic Naro Cinema.
